Caregiver mental health resources 

Presented by Bridget Britton, Behavioral Health Field Specialist, OSU Extension

Bridget has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Social Work, and is a licensed social worker. She has worked in the mental health field for over 10 years. Bridget has certifications to teach Mental Health First Aid, QPR (Question Persuade Refer), and Trauma 101. She has worked with OSU Extension for 5 years after time as a therapist and foster care supervisor.  Who should attend this training?

  • Caregivers that live in a rural setting

  • Anyone working or living on a farm

  • People that want to learn more about improving mental health in limited access areas

What will the training focus on?

  • Concentrating on self-care when it is difficult to get away from the home or the farm

  • How to stay connected and in tune with our mental health needs when services are limited

  • Looking into local resources, when there is a lack of them in our rural communities

  • Deeper dive into the unique stressors of Rural and Agricultural communities
