Growing Strong, Growing Together
Have you ever wondered how people with disabilities can work on farms and
gardens? In this coloring book, you'll meet some amazing people who use their skills
and creativity to grow delicious food.
As you color these pictures, think about the different ways people can work
together to grow food. Remember, everyone has unique skills and abilities, and
together, we can achieve amazing things.
Ohio AgrAbility works with Ohio farmers who have disabilities to help keep them farming safely and
productively.
• Ohio AgrAbility helps farmers do their jobs! They help with things like getting on and off tractors, taking care
of animals, picking crops, and anything else a farmer needs to do.
• Sometimes people have a hard time doing things that other people can do easily. This is called a disability. It
could make it hard to see, hear, walk, think, or learn. Some people are born with a disability, while others get
one later. Some disabilities go away after a while, but others stay.
• People with disabilities can do lots of the same things you can! Sometimes they use special tools to help
them. These can be simple things like ramps or special handles, or cool gadgets like talking computers or
special chairs that help them move around.
• Ohio AgrAbility helps people who find gardening hard because their bodies hurt, or they can't move around
easily. They teach special ways to garden, like using special tools or changing the garden to make it easier.
